Welcome! Our flat is located in an old-fashioned building that was freshly renovated in summer 2024. The offered room (about 11.35 square meters) will be available at the beginning of October and is on the sunny side of the flat, facing the backyard. It's small but cozy, and is extremely quiet.
The room is furnished with the following:
- large bed with comfortable mattress (including linens)
- desk with swivel chair
- drawers
- wardrobe
The whole flat is completely furnished as well, complete with a well stocked kitchen (including oven and stovetop, large refrigerator, coffee machine and kettle), and a large living room with a balcony (including a large Smart TV and a sofa that can be folded out). A basement storage unit is also available for use.
All flat costs (internet, electricity, heating) are covered in the rent (690€). The only thing that one still needs to pay is the mandatory public broadcasting fee (about 6,50€ per month).
The house is in the Fortunastraße, located very close to the station Flingern S-Bahnhof.
- There are direct connections to the lines S8 and S28, as well as the tram lines 706 and 709.
- Connections to the subway lines U75/U77 as well as lines U72/U73/U83 are 7-10 minutes away by foot.
- It is very quiet on our street in front of the house.
- Many supermarkets and other stores are quickly reachable.
- One can freely park on our street, but it is not always easy to find a parking space.

Our flatshare life has a very relaxed atmosphere. We are all gainfully employed (but this is not a prerequisite). One sees one another on occasion in the kitchen, and now and then we enjoy watching something together in the evenings on the big screen.
- I (Andrew), 38, am the primary tenant (not the owner). I'll be moving into a different flat in the same house and will completely sublet the flat. I'm a US American, travel frequently to Georgia (the country, not the US state), and work as a church organist and transcriptionist.
- Georg, 28, is a software developer from Tübingen. He's a rather quiet guy but also enjoys chatting about God and the world. He enjoys playing video games and likes to go out walking and hiking; additionally he wants to get back into more doing more sports like bouldering and table tennis. Otherwise, he likes learning hew things, currently learning Japanese.
-Adi, 29, works as a chemical engineer in Ekrath. He is originally from India and speaks very little German (we always communicate in English). He enjoys watching various things in the living room, and it always smells amazing in the kitchen when he's cooking something. Also mention-worthy is that he completed the Düsseldorf Marathon this year!

Further information:
- Someone once asked if it is loud in the flat because the railway is directly behind the house. It is true that the tracks are very close, but our flat is only on the first upper floor. With closed windows one barely hears anything, and with an open window it's still very quiet due to the sound-dampening wall.
- The lease is offered only on a 6-month basis. That means, you must rent for a minimum of six months, then you can renew for another 6 months (and so on, etc.). Exceptions can be made, though, with enough forewarning.
- Having a pet is possible, but only if agreed upon (with me, the landlord, and the other flatmates).
- I read every message, but do you read all the text? In order to verify, please mention the codeword "olive oil" in your message, so that I can quickly delete insincere messages.
- I speak German fluently (as does Georg, considering he's German...), but we mostly communicate in English in the flat, therefore, the advertisement is written in English.
- Non-smokers are of course preferred, but not excluded. One can freely smoke on the balcony or outside.Mehr anzeigen
